Meet Dr. Peter Fisk

From Pain to Purpose: His Path to Chiropractic

A serious car accident in his mid-twenties left Dr. Peter Fisk with pain that conventional approaches couldn’t resolve. After weeks of debilitating headaches and neck pain, he visited a chiropractor. Three adjustments later, the symptoms were gone—and so was his need for painkillers. That experience shaped the path he would walk from that moment forward.

I realized that I wanted to do that for other people. By making a shift in the body, they wouldn’t have to take pills that stopped them from feeling anything. I get to see lives change for the better every day by putting my hands on people.

A One-of-a-Kind Educational Path

Dr. Fisk’s academic foundation is as distinctive as his practice style. He earned a degree in Transformational Education from Southwestern College of Life Sciences, a graduate program focused on consciousness studies and applied healing. Before that, he spent two years at St. John’s College immersed in the Great Books curriculum, where discussions, not lectures, were the classroom standard.

He also completed a year-long therapeutic alternative healing program at Scherer’s Academy of Natural Healing. He studied craniosacral therapy through The Upledger Institute, advanced osteopathic cranial approaches from specialists, and The Trager Method. He later earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Life Chiropractic College West, graduating summa cum laude.

A Down-to-Earth Approach to Whole-Person Care

Often described by patients as thoughtful and calming, Dr. Fisk believes in helping people understand what’s going on in their bodies. Whether easing someone’s pain or helping them avoid unnecessary scans and stress, his goal is to reconnect individuals with their health—and with themselves.

“I think of it as primary care chiropractic. People are often overwhelmed by conflicting health advice, whether from orthodox or unorthodox sources. What I offer is grounded, integrative, and based on real listening.”

A Life Rooted in Family, Music, and Meaning

Raised in a family of Ivy League grads in San Francisco, Dr. Fisk followed a different path—one shaped by curiosity and connection. He and his wife (also a chiropractor) have three children. Their eldest daughter recently launched her legal career in Portland. His middle daughter is pursuing a double major at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. His youngest, a musician, just graduated from the New Mexico School for the Arts.

You might find Dr. Fisk singing or playing mandolin and guitar outside the clinic. Bluegrass and acoustic music are personal therapy for him—”When I sing, I feel better,” he says. He also enjoys hiking, Skiing, cycling and taking in local performances with his family.
